About Us

"Ambassadors of the Qur’ān,"

Ḥamalatul-Qur’ān, meaning “Ambassadors of the Qur’ān,” is a newly established Ḥifṭḥ Institution dedicated to preserving and advancing Qur’ān memorization. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment that produce Ḥuffāth with excellent memorisation to preserve The Holy Qur’ān, recite with correct pronunciation and display the beautiful character, that of The Holy Qur’ān. Thus, the Holy Qur’ān should be the guiding compass that navigates each student in this worldly life.

Leadership

Ḥamalatul-Qur’ān was founded by Ḥāfith Abdul Malik De Vries, who serves as the treasurer of the institution. He holds Ijāzah (certification) and sanad (a chain of transmission linked directly to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ) in the 10 Minor Qirā’āt and is currently completing the 10 Major Qirā’āt under the guidance of Sheikh Ihsaan Davids and Ml Saleem Gaibie.

Ḥāfith Ismaeel Saban serves as the principal and has received Ijāzah in the recitation of The Holy Qur’ān from Qārī Abdul Malik De Vries. Together, the leadership team is dedicated to preserving and transmitting The Holy Qur’ān in the same manner it was passed down from Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.

Mission Statement

Ḥamalatul-Qur’ān provides an exceptional environment for the memorization and study of The Holy Qur’ān.

We place great emphasis on strong retention, recognizing that many students complete their Ḥifth and then move on to secular education. This presents an opportunity for us to set a high standard in ensuring that our Ḥuffāth maintain their memorization with excellence even after completion.

With a commitment to high educational standards and the preservation of The Holy Qur’ān, we strive to make a meaningful impact in our students’ lives. Our approach includes maintaining a low student-teacher ratio, allowing for individualized attention and fostering a deep, heart-to-heart connection with each student.

Understanding the importance of academic continuity, we offer an optional Academic Program to support students in their transition back into mainstream education after completing their ḥifth. This program is overseen by a qualified external teacher, ensuring that students meet their academic requirements while remaining focused on their Qur’ānic studies.

A Message From Our Founder

When I looked at the landscape of Qur’ānic education, I envisioned a school where students and teachers build strong bonds from the very beginning, growing together through the journey of the memorization of The Holy Qur’ān. At Ḥamalatul-Qur’ān, students remain with the same teacher throughout their Ḥifth (unless change is needed), allowing for deeper mentorship and a more personal approach to learning.

A key principal of this school is the belief that teachers define a student’s potential. Thus, the school upholds a strict criterion for educators— it is compulsory for teachers to continuously strive for self-improvement because the strength of their students depends on them.

Beyond memorization, we emphasize the development of good character. Our goal is for students and teachers to embody the values of the Qur’ān, serving as examples within the school and the broader community. The Qur’ān is not just Memorized, it is lived and taught through our actions.

Most importantly, we want every student to complete their Ḥifth with confidence, knowing their Qur’ān comfortably. When returning to primary or high school, students should never fear forgetting what they have learned.

Ḥamalatul-Qur’ān was founded to make a difference in the field of Qur’ānic education, built on excellence, humility, and sincerity.
